HOW YOU CAN HELP

We are very grateful to all supporters of KEEP SOUTHWATER GREEN, many of whom help simply by signing the petition and then spreading the word among their friends and neighbours. Some are able to give more of their time, attending meetings, and assisting with various aspects of our on-going campaign, while others are kind enough to contribute financially to help with the costs incurred.

Sign the petition

This can be done online by clicking HERE or in person. And if you want to do both, that is fine!  Just check the box on the paper petition to say you have signed online too.

Register your personal objection

Make your own personal opposition to Berkeley Homes’ planning application known to Horsham District Council. You can do this online, by adding a comment to the relevant section on HDC’s website HERE. Enter the planning reference DC/14/0590 in the box, then click the search button. On the next page select the ‘Make a public comment’ tab, and fill out the details. It’s wise to tick the box at the foot of the form to send yourself an e-mail copy before you click the submit button.

Alternatively, objections can be lodged by letter. They should be addressed to Helen Lowe, Planning Officer, Horsham District Council, Park North, Horsham, RH12 1RL. You can also e-mail her at helen.lowe@horsham.gov.uk. Whichever method you prefer, you must quote the application’s reference number DC/14/0590.

Help gather signatures

We have a small team of volunteers who set up a stand in Lintot Square on Saturday mornings to gather signatures from passing shoppers. We’d like to extend this to cover the afternoons as well as Sundays throughout May and June, but need more people willing to do a few hours each. Some volunteers are also collecting petition signatures door-to-door. If you could spare some time for this, just in your own road or further afield in your neighbourhood, or even outside the schools, it would be extremely helpful.

Sign up for newsletter

Using the form in the sidebar of these pages, add your name and e-mail address to our newsletter mailing list, so you can receive regular updates on what’s happening. Please note, in order to activate it, you’ll need to respond to the automated e-mail you’ll be sent asking you to confirm your subscription!

Display a poster

We have several designs suitable to display outside properties and are actively seeking strategic locations for these. They can be fitted on prominent fences, walls, gates or railings, or on posts stuck in the ground. If you live in a spot that gets a lot of passing traffic, by foot or car, please get in touch. We also have a supply of car stickers.

Spread the word

Many residents of Southwater are still completely unaware of this latest threat to our environment and the quality of life we currently enjoy here. Please tell you friends and neighbours what’s happening. Ask them to visit our website and sign up to our newsletter.
